  Party Bags - Our Suppliers

Our Suppliers

Here are details about some of our carefully chosen suppliers.

We source our products from a range of countries including India, The Philippines, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and the UK. We only buy Fairly Traded products as we know that buying in this way all the businesses in the process benefit.

There are some wonderful examples in these countries of how small groups and cooperatives are trading themselves out of poverty and investing their profits from Fair Trade into developing their communities.

One of many examples is the group in Delhi which produces our newspaper and exam bags. As a direct result they are rescuing street children from Delhi railway station and giving them education and support.

Fairtrade Footballs

Our Fairtrade football, rugby balls and Sports bags are produced by a company that stand out from other football manufacturers with their ethical approach to football production. Fairtrade premiums are paid to their workers and FSC certified rubber is used in many of their products.

An amazing Welsh Company that simply takes Welsh Sheep Poo and turns it into cards.  It is so eco friendly as no wood is used.

Doy Bags are made by a women's cooperative in the Philippines. The large number of bags and household items that they produce every year prevents vast quantities of juice packs from being burnt, buried or simply littering the streets and waterways.

By proving that there can be a livelihood in garbage, they have succeeded where the juice manufactures have failed to even try to make a difference.

Their mission is now both environmental and social as they work to improve the lives of local women by creating long-term sustainable employment - providing not only fair and regular wages, but also the skills and dignity that a proper job brings.

The cooperative has won a number of awards in the Philippines for it's concern for the environment and it's outstanding contribution to both waste recycling and employment generation.

You may never visit the Philippines yourself, but by buying a fairly traded Doy Bag you can be sure that you are helping to improve the lives of these disadvantaged women and their families.

Remarkable was set up by Edward Douglas Miller in 1996 to start to look at what could be made from UK recycled materials.  He began by experimenting with plastic cups with the aim of trying to turn one plastic cup into a pencil. Why? Because it had never been done before and it would prove to the world that you could take one everyday, throwaway item that would usually just go straight to landfill and, instead, turn it into a new product which was fun, functional and had a long second life.

From their Midlands factory Remarkable use only use UK sourced recycled materials to make their range of staionery. Their aim is to show recycling can be fun.
