What our symbols mean

If you see this symbol then the product is made from recycled materials. In the case of party bags it means that some or in many cases all of the contents are recycled. Re-using materials has less of an impact on the environment and therefore helps to reduce global warming.

We do not label products as Recycled unless they are made from Recycled materials. You may find that some companies simply use the Recycled symbol to indicate that it can be recycled after use. We feel this is misleading.

We are very passionate about ensuring that all our products are Fairly Traded. We will not sell anything unless this is the case. Some of our products such as all our chocolate and footballs are actually "Fairtrade" certified. This means that the Fairtrade Foundation ( read more at www.fairtrade.org.uk ) have actually certified the product. However the Fairtrade Foundation concentrates on certifying food products and textiles and so some products cannot at the moment be certified.

This means we as a retailer need to be diligent and ensure that all our products are Fairly Traded. All our producers are paid a fair price for their products and trade helps to provide a more sustainable future for them. Please read our suppliers section to find out how this works.
